EVOLUTION IS WRITTEN INTO THE TISSUES OF YOUR BODY.
The meridian system of acupuncture is a map to heal your body. It is also a BLUEPRINT for mental, spiritual and emotional growth.
ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
At Sonoma Valley Acupuncture and Herb Center we have a multi-dimensional approach to healing. We look at the body, mind, emotions, and spirit as one continuum.
We address the whole body in our sessions: the spine, the hara (abdomen), the neck, and the extremities with a special emphasis on the core constitution of each individual. We offer both insertion needles, as well as non-insertion needle treatments aimed to stimulate positive change and healing. In addition to each consultation and diagnosis we provide homeopathic and herbal recommendations that are available in tincture, tea and pill form.

ABOUT PHIL
Phil Madden, L.Ac. has been in private practice since 1993. Phil practices an acupuncture style called “Hari” which is based on both modern and traditional medical science. Hari focuses on treating the root cause of disease while simultaneously remedying symptoms through balancing the bodys’ qi. Light touch palpation of the abdomen, acupuncture meridians and points, and the pulse is conducted to determine the location and quality of imbalances. Hari treatments also include non-insertion needle techniques (contact needling), and Japanese style moxibustion, as well as intuition. Light touch palpation guides the needle techniques and treatment approach for each patient. In addition to the Hari system of acupuncture, Phil uses herbs, homeopathic remedies, tai qi and qi gong to facilitate healing on all levels, creating an individualized and holistic experience for each patient.
This form of healing is appropriate for most conditions and for all ages. By seeing one person at a time, Phil is able to give full focus and attention to his patients ensuring their needs are met. Phil has 3 wonderful children and a loving wife. Through his family, he has learned that there is no greater medicine than love. It is this love and devotion to life that Phil brings to each of his patients.
ABOUT JENNIFER
Jennifer Jensen, L.Ac. combines acupuncture with cranial-sacral therapy to mobilize restrictions in the body to align the structure. These modalities are a potent combination because they both assume and draw from the body’s own intelligence to heal. This addresses the client at the deepest levels of healing - the mental, spiritual, and emotional, therefore treating the root and the branch of an illness simultaneously. This combination can treat many illnesses effectively. It is ideal for recovery from injury, trauma, pain syndromes as well as digestive, hormonal, and chronic immune disregulation such as fibromyalgia and Lyme’s.
Jennifer also enjoys working on all issues related to women’s health in all phases of life, including labor induction and care before and after pregnancy.
Through Covid she found a new skill in long distance healing. Qi can be moved in a variety of ways: in person, with the acupuncture needles and over distance, with breathing, guided visualizations, focussed intention and somatic dialog.
This past year she developed a new course teaching the symbols of the acupuncture points and channels called: An Epic Journey in Self Healing: Mapping the Esoteric Anatomy of the 12 Organ Networks. This class will repeat yearly - please check it out here.
