Healing Modalities
Our intention is to sit with you, observe, ask questions, listen, and then discern and interpret these patterns so that we can assist you with correct, specific, and individualized treatment.
ACUPUNCTURE
Extremely fine needles are gently inserted into the skin to stimulate the flow of Qi into the meridian. It usually induces a deep state of relaxation and different energetic sensations as the treatment progresses. There is an immediate benefit of deep rest as well as the long term benefits of balanced energy, decrease of pain and symptoms, and a heightened sense of well being. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect, meaning that treatments build on one another and produce greater results with greater frequency. NON-InSERTION ACUPUNCTURE
Non insertion acupuncture is available for all ages. Gold and silver needles called teishin needles lightly touch the skin and are used in similar ways as their stainless steel cousins. The quality of these needles along with the healing properties of gold and silver make for an effective treatment modality for our patients. Non insertion treatments for children are short in duration and are absolutely painless. Non-insertion treatments for adults are approximately an hour in duration.
LONG DISTANCE HEALING
During in-person sessions, the body energy can be felt. In long distance sessions, the body’s energy can be “seen” and energetically experienced. Instead of using needles to move the qi and release blockage, we can use breath, guided visualization and somatic dialogue. Long distance sessions work on a more energetic, mental and emotional level and are ideal for people who respond well to energetic work.
QI GONG
We all have an energetic body interacting with the physical body. The more we can connect the two, the more “control” we have of this energy body, the greater our potentials will manifest. Phil uses Qi Gong during treatments and also teaches classes.
Cranial Sacral
All of our tissues have specific patterns of motion. Health requires that those tissues stay in motion. Optimal health means those tissues have a full range of motion. A maxim of this therapy is, “Structure and function are inter-related.” This means restrictions in the structure (tissues) affect the function of the tissues. Cranial Sacral Therapy aims to identify and release tissue restrictions in a gentle and safe manner. Jennifer uses this therapy in conjunction with acupuncture.
Herbal Medicine
Herbs have been used throughout the entire history of humankind, in every culture around the globe. We have studied over 300 herbs from China and many more from our local habitat. We carry almost 300 herbs in our in-house pharmacy and have access to over 600 herbs from all over the world. Many of these are fresh organic or fresh wildcrafted in the form of tinctures.
